References	Alamethicin is a channel-forming ionophore. It activates membrane enzymes by disrupting the membrane barriers of sarcolemmal vesicles, which gives substrates and activators access to enzymatic sites in the interior of the vesicles. Alamethicin is a peptabiol peptide produced by species of Trichoderma. Alamethicin is an antimicrobial peptide (AMP) that disturbs the lipid layer of the cell membrane, aggregating and forming pores and causing cell lysis. Krauson AJ, He J, Wimley WC.
